At Brigham Young University, all students have “cleaning checks” to help maintain the apartment complexes where they live. Cleaning checks take place once a month, are mandatory, and require extensive cleaning. If students fail the cleaning check, they must pay a fee and re-clean. If they fail again, a professional is hired and the student is required to pay for the services. Students have a hard time keeping up on their cleaning. They find themselves frustrated and while cleaning because they know they should be able to focus on studies and other priorities.

The idea of MCC is to take over these cleaning checks from college students. First, we will provide all the cleaning supplies. Also, we will use the list they are given by their complex to complete the cleaning. If the students live where no cleaning checks are required, we will bring a list, get the customers approval, and then continue with the cleaning. We will check off each item as we clean. Thus, our tag line or motto will be “Just check it off.” Once we have finished, a resident will be there to sign the check list saying we completed every task. This not only ensures hard work, but also ensures the safety of the apartment. Next, if the cleaning check fails, we will come back free of charge and re-clean. Lastly, we will charge a flat rate per apartment we clean. It does not matter if we are there 1, 2, or 3 hours, they will pay the same. Therefore, with most apartments having four to six persons living there, they will split the cost four to six ways. That means individuals are only spending approximately an extra $20.00 to $30.00 each month to have their place professionally cleaned twice.
